Dear Inkworks Collector:

We are pleased that we were finally able to obtain the Lara Flynn Boyle autographed cards from Men in Black II. The cards were not exactly what we expected to receive, but they are a unique and interesting addition to our set.  It can be very difficult to get a top name actor or actress to autograph cards and sometimes problems can occur.  Ms. Boyle was supplied with specially printed cards that were similar to the ones signed by the six other Men In Black II autographers.  The images and copy on these cards were approved in advance by Ms. Boyle.  Unfortunately, we do not know why she did not sign them. We have worked closely with the studio and Ms. Boyle’s agents for months and months to get the cards that we sent to her, but have not been successful.

We contractually require everyone who autographs cards for us to return all signed, unsigned and damaged cards so that we can account for all outstanding cards.  In this case, the unsigned A3 cards will be returned to Inkworks and destroyed.   Ms. Boyle does not attend shows and her autograph is not easy to come by.  These were not the cards that we originally intended for Ms. Boyle to sign, but they have been signed by her, which makes them a very rare collectible.

We have taken several steps to assure collectors that the Lara Flynn Boyle autographed cards that they purchase on the secondary market can be evaluated as authentic or not:

1)      A voided redemption card will be returned with each autograph.  If you intend to purchase a Lara Flynn Boyle autographed card, the seller should be able to provide you with the voided redemption card.

2)      Each card will be embossed with a special “Inkworks Authentic” mark.  This embosser is not the same as the ones that we have used at trade shows and it will not be used at trade shows in the future.  Early Inkworks autographed cards were embossed in the same manner.  (Incidentally, each trade show embosser is exclusive to a particular year and show and is destroyed after the show.)

3)      Each returned card will have an embossed, signed “certificate of authenticity” from Inkworks.  If you intend to purchase one of these cards, the seller should be able to provide the original, embossed certificate.

Ms. Boyle signed many different cards including base cards and bonus cards. She signed the fronts of some cards and the backs of others.  We have attempted to show a range of these cards on our web site. Any cards that we deem unacceptable will be removed from distribution.  We will be fulfilling redemptions randomly.

While we believe that the Lara Flynn Boyle cards are a rare and unique collectible, if any collector finds a Lara Flynn Boyle autograph redemption card and would rather not receive her autographed card, they may return the redemption card and a written request to exchange the card for an autographed card and voided redemption card of Barry Sonnenfeld (card A2), which is currently selling for over $300 on eBay.

If anyone has already returned their Lara Flynn Boyle redemption card to Inkworks and would prefer to receive card A2 as a replacement, they may forward their request by mail (Inkworks, P. O. Box 52099, Raleigh, NC 27612), email (info@inkworkscards.com) or fax (919-786-9150).  Please include your full name, address, telephone number and email address so that we can match it up with your redemption card.

If a collector decides to exchange their redemption card for a Barry Sonnenfeld card, their Lara Flynn Boyle autographed card and redemption card will be destroyed.

If anyone has questions or concerns about their Men in Black II redemption cards, please don’t hesitate to contact us (telephone:  919-786-0070 or email:  info@inkworkscards.com).

Thanks.

“Uncle Allan”

Allan Caplan, Inkworks
