RALEIGH, NC - April, 2003 - Fox Licensing & Merchandising and Inkworks have teamed up to bring collectors the sequel to last year’s sold out BUFFY: EVOLUTION Trading Cards with the release of: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: CONNECTIONS ULTRA-PREMIUM TRADING CARDS. BUFFY: CONNECTIONS features the love and hate relationships of the fan-favorite characters. This 72-card series is printed on premium 20-point holographic foil board. Each card is etched and image enhanced with a special coating for the ultimate gloss and premium feel.

"Every one of the cards in the BUFFY: CONNECTIONS base set is like a bonus card in any other product," says Allan Caplan, president of Inkworks. "These are some of the most beautiful cards that we have ever created. As a result, demand for this product has been very strong. Collectors should still be able to order these cards from their local retailer, but we are already sold-out at the manufacturer level."

In addition to the base set, there are several levels of randomly inserted bonus cards including:

- PIECEWORKS(tm) CARDS - The first ever Dual Costume Pieceworks cards! There are three different cards with four different costume combination variations of each card. The cards feature pieces of actual costumes worn by the actors on-screen as they appeared together including: Buffy/Spike, Willow/Tara and Xander/Anya. (Three cards - Appx. odds 1:24 packs - one per box!).

- SLAYER’S CIRCLE - Nine-card foil puzzle featuring Buffy and her friends. (Nine cards - Appx. odds 1:11 packs).

- HEARTBREAKS - Six foil embossed cards that feature the show’s ultimate heartbreaks. (Six cards - Appx. odds 1:14 packs).

- PARALLEL SET - A special platinum version of the base set with different card numbers and coloring from the base set. Inserted approximately one per pack. (72 cards - Appx. odds 1:1 packs).

- BOX LOADER and CASE LOADER cards - Three different foil box loader cards (one card per sealed display box) and one special die-cut coffin case loader card (one card per sealed case).

Each pack of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: CONNECTIONS trading cards contains five ultra-premium trading cards plus one parallel card and has a suggested retail price of $3.29. Display boxes contain 24 packs. There will also be a new BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: CONNECTIONS collector album and a limited, numbered uncut mini-press sheet of "Slayer’s Circle." Only 299 sequentially numbered uncut mini-press sheets will be available.
