Inkworks Dominates "Gummies" Again

Inkworks Wins Awards in All Categories for Second Straight Year

RALEIGH, NC, January, 2004 -- The February-March 2004 issue of Non-Sport Update, a leading publication for entertainment trading cards, announced that Inkworks was awarded first or second place in all seven categories for the second year in a row in their Collectors’ Choice Awards – The Gummies.   The four first place awards captured by Inkworks included top honors for “Best Set” for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Connections.  In addition, Inkworks completely swept first, second and third place awards in two categories:  “Best Packaging” and “Best Album.”  The Gummie awards, voted on by readers of Non-Sport Update  magazine, are considered to be one of the most prestigious in the entertainment trading card industry.

“For two straight years, collectors have awarded us Gummies in every category offered by Non-Sport Update, “ said Allan Caplan, president of Inkworks.  “All of us at Inkworks work every day to provide trading card collectors with superior customer service and premium quality products in everything we create.  We also do all we can to continue to build the trading card category by reaching out to new collectors at major trade and consumer shows in the United States and overseas as well as by licensing properties that we expect to appeal to a new generation of collectors and to potential collectors who haven’t discovered the fun and excitement that can be found in our hobby.”

In the last two years Inkworks has won more first place Gummies and more total Gummies than all other trading card manufacturers combined.

“It is a tremendous honor to receive all of these awards from collectors of our products,” said Caplan.  “We consider it our responsibility as the leader in this industry to produce creative, premium quality collectibles at a good value in every item that carries the names of Inkworks and our licensed properties.  As proud as we are of the awards we have won in the past, we are focused on an even brighter future with even more innovative and creative products from the top entertainment properties in the world including Andromeda: Reign of the Commonwealth, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Hellboy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and many others.”

Inkworks is a Raleigh, North Carolina based trading card and collectibles company specializing in entertainment related properties.  Current Inkworks licenses include Alias, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, Scooby-Doo,  Alien vs. Predator, Catwoman, Smallville,  Charmed, Justice League, and Hellboy.  For the 2004 Inkworks product release schedule, more information on Inkworks products or to find out how to get free collector cards, please visit the Inkworks web site at www.inkworkscards.com.
