Inkworks Repeats as ‘Best Manufacturer’

RALEIGH, NC, January 19, 2001 -- The February-March 2001 issue of Non-Sport Update, the leading publication for entertainment trading cards, named Inkworks “Best Manufacturer” for the second year in a row in their 2000 Collector’s Choice Awards – The Gummies.

“We are thrilled to receive the  ‘Best Manufacturer’ award for a second straight year by a vote of non-sport trading card collectors, “ said Allan Caplan, president of Inkworks.  “Once again,  collectors have recognized our commitment to the entertainment trading card industry, superior customer service, our premium quality products and our passion for this business.”

Additionally, Inkworks received the ‘Best Packaging’ award for the second straight year for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reflections: The High School Years Display Box.  “The display box that we designed for our Buffy Reflections product is an example of the creativity we bring to our products,” said Martha Modlin, executive vice president of Inkworks.  “The display box was designed to look like a book  that, when opened, reveals 24 packs of cards.  Many collectors buy our products by the box and this display box gives our Buffy fans a free bonus that they can add to their collections.”

The Gummie awards, voted on by non-sport collectors, are considered to be the most prestigious in the entertainment trading card industry.  These awards follow three successive annual “Best Manufacturer” awards from hobby retailers based on polls conducted by Diamond Comic Distributors.  Diamond is the nation’s largest and most important distributor to specialty retailers such as comic book, trading card and gaming shops.

“It is a tremendous honor to receive “Best Manufacturer recognition from both collectors and retailers,” said Caplan.  “We consider it our responsibility as a leader in this industry to produce creative, premium quality collectibles at a good value in every item that carries the names of Inkworks and our licensed properties.”

Inkworks is a Raleigh, North Carolina based trading card and collectibles company specializing in entertainment properties.  Inkworks is the only major trading card manufacturer with a guarantee that assures collectors each display box contains a complete defect-free basic set.  In addition, Inkworks pledges the highest quality production, printing and packaging.  Inkworks can be found on the Internet at www.Inkworkscards.com.  Current Inkworks licenses include James Bond, Elvis Presley, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The Simpsons, Roswell, Charmed, Jurassic Park III, The Mummy Returns and The X-Files.
